On, November 10th, 2022, the Community Housing Association of Dodge City (CHAD) received a $15,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas for Paint Dodge and the Community Home Renovation Program (CHRP).

CHAD created Paint Dodge in 2017 with a grant from the Community Foundation of Southwest Kanas. Paint Dodge assists eligible homeowners in Ford County to repaint the exterior of their homes. With the continued annual support from the Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas, we have assisted 36 homeowners with Paint Dodge.

The CHRP program provides qualifying residents with the materials and labor to make critical home renovations. Home renovation is a crucial piece of affordable housing preservation, it ensures families are living in safe and well-maintained homes, prevents families from being displaced from their homes due to their inability to afford minor home repairs that overtime escalate to major repairs, protects the persons’ financial investments, and restores the homeowner’s dignity and pride of homeownership.

Both programs are designed to preserve the affordable housing stock, improve the condition of houses in blighted areas, and encourage economic development in Dodge City and Ford County and wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of the Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas.
