Dr. Roger Marshall, a U.S. Senator from Kansas, shared a series of posts on his X (formerly Twitter) account in early October 2025, addressing topics ranging from international diplomacy to domestic policy and the ongoing government shutdown.
On October 8, 2025, Dr. Marshall praised former President Donald Trump’s diplomatic efforts, stating: “Congratulations to President @realDonaldTrump — the ultimate peacemaker. Because of his leadership, the world is a safer, more peaceful place tonight, and families across the region will soon be reunited with their loved ones. Nobel Peace Price worthy!”
The following day, Dr. Marshall commented on health care costs and legislative action: “No matter what Congress does, health care premiums are set to rise 20% — a direct result of the Democrats’ failed ACA policies. Republicans are offering real, sustainable solutions — not another $1.5 trillion patch on a failing system.” Health insurance premiums have been projected to increase significantly in 2025, with some industry analysts citing underlying cost pressures such as provider rates and pharmaceutical expenses as contributing factors.
Later that same day, Dr. Marshall criticized Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer amid a federal government shutdown: “Wow. Chuck Schumer is gloating while hardworking Americans are paying the price for the Democrat Shutdown. Stop playing politics and open the government.” The federal government had entered a partial shutdown in early October 2025 after lawmakers failed to reach an agreement on appropriations bills.
Dr. Marshall has previously been an outspoken critic of Democratic policies regarding health care reform and federal spending.
