Men’s Golf Ranked Fourth in First NJCAA DI Rankings of the Spring
The spring golf season is right around the corner for the Dodge City men’s golf team, and they will open the spring season ranked #4 in the NJCAA Division first poll of the spring.
The Conquistadors are set to open the spring season on March 20th-21st when they will compete in Enid, Oklahoma at the Oakwood Intercollegiate hosted by Southwestern Christian at Oakwood Country Club. Conqs will then transition into Jayhawk Conference competition with the first KJCCC match taking place on March 27th-28th at Colbert Hills golf course in Manhattan.
Three other KJCCC schools are in the NJCAA DI rankings alongside the Conqs as Hutchinson is ranked #1, while Garden City and Barton come in at 13th and 15th, respectively.
Eight Conq golfers are ranked in the Top 105 by Golfstat for NJCAA DI with seven being in the Top 60. Supakit Seelanagae leads the Conqs as he is ranked third, while Austin Goodrum ranks 29th.
Conqs are coming off a strong fall competing as the only junior college at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Kansas State, while the fall was highlighted by a third-place finish at the Southwestern Christian Invitational to open the year as the Conqs set multiple school records. The Conqs tallied a 54-hole record as a team (818) at the season-opening tournament and Thanaphon Suwannapratheep set an individual 54-hole record to win the tournament shooting a 199.
The Conqs will be looking to put together another strong spring to earn another spot at the National tournament hosted this year in Newton, Kansas at Sand Creek golf course.
