Dr. Roger Marshall, U.S. Senator from Kansas, highlighted recent tax relief measures and economic policies affecting Americans and Kansas manufacturers in a series of posts on April 16, 2026.

On Tax Day, Marshall stated that “This tax day, Kansas manufacturers are keeping more of what they earn. Full expensing, a permanent small business deduction, and $100+ billion in Opportunity Zone investment giving them the have tools they need to grow.” (April 16, 2026).

Later that day, he addressed consumer costs at fuel stations: “Today, Americans will spend $58,226,000 on swipe fees at the pump.” (April 16, 2026).

In another post focused on tax policy outcomes for working families, Marshall wrote: “Over 25 million Americans have claimed No Tax on Overtime, with an average deduction of over $3,100. I’m proud to have led this historic tax relief through the Working Families Tax Cuts.” (April 16, 2026).

Marshall’s background includes serving seven years in the U.S. Army Reserves and practicing obstetrics and gynecology for over two decades. He has delivered more than 5,000 babies during his medical career and was the first in his family to pursue higher education after growing up as a fifth-generation farm kid. He earned degrees from Butler County Community College, Kansas State University and the University of Kansas School of Medicine (official website). In Congress, he serves on committees related to agriculture; nutrition; forestry; finance; health; education; labor; pensions; and budget matters. His office also provides various constituent services such as military academy nominations and assistance with federal agencies.
