The Seward County Community College Library continues its Saints Scribes speaker series with a presentation by children’s author Prisca Barnes at noon on Monday, September 26.
Barnes will discuss her journey as a children’s book author, explore the importance of diverse books and share a writing exercise.
Admission is free and open to the public. Pizza and refreshments will be served.
Barnes is the founder and CEO of Storytime Village, Inc., a Kansas-based nonprofit organization that promotes reading among low-income children and families. She is a passionate advocate for equity in education and literacy. She is the author of the Kansas Notable book, “People, Pride, and Promise: The Story of the Dockum Sit-in.”
