Looking for their second straight win against JCCC, the KCKCC women's soccer team traveled to the Cavaliers turf on Wednesday night. The Blue Devils trailed by one goal late in the match, but JCCC added their third goal of the game down the stretch to take the 3-1 win over KCKCC.
The Blue Devils are now 5-6-2 overall and 4-6-1 in the KJCCC.
The Cavaliers scored their first two goals in the 10th and 34th minute of the match to take a 2-0 lead. In the second half, KCKCC cut the deficit to one goal when Jana Richter received a pass from Viola Bischoff and connected in the 62nd minute. The Blue Devils continued to try to find the net to score the equalizer. However, JCCC maintained possession and in the 85th minute was able to put the game away with their third and final goal.
Jordan Bedard took a team high three shots on the night, while Richter, Bischoff and Maria Luiza Rocha each took two shots.
KCKCC has two regular season games left and next hosts Coffeyville CC Oct. 19 at 5 p.m. for 'Sophomore Night.'
