Men's Basketball Makes it Eight Straight Wins With Victory Over Northwest Kansas Tech

Dodge City men's basketball made it eight-straight wins on the season as they lassoed an 86-72 win over Northwest Kansas Tech. 

The win moves the Conquistadors to 8-1 on the season and 4-0 in KJCCC action, while stretching out multiple win streaks as the Conqs have won eight-straight on the season, six-straight in the series against the Mavericks, and the program has now won 20 straight games at home. 

Conqs opened the contest with a bang on a lob dunk finished by Jacobi Sebock and raced out to a 15-4 lead headed into the first media timeout. That lead continued to blossom throughout the first half leading to a 40-24 lead at halftime for the Conqs as the Mavericks shot just 25.7% from the field in the first half. In the second half, the Conqs continued to keep things out of reach for the Mavericks growing the lead to 20 at 74-54 with just under five minutes remaining. The Conqs capped the game at home down the stretch finishing out the contest to win 86-72. 

The Conqs shot 49.3% from the floor while holding the Mavericks to 32.3% from the floor and forced 21 Northwest Kansas Tech turnovers. Conqs used the 45-35 rebounding edge to help push to the win as they also tallied 21 assists on 34 made shots; the 21 assists are a season-high for the team. 

Sebock matched his career-best dropping 22 points on 10-12 shooting and added four rebounds, while Jason Edwards continued his strong season with 22 points on 8-16 shooting adding six rebounds. Cam Malray finished with his second double-double of the season posting 12 points and 10 rebounds. Chris Robinson added six points, and three steals, and matched his career-high in assists with 10. Seven other Conqs got in the scoring column on the night. 

Conqs now turn their attention to a rivalry showdown against Garden City on the road on Saturday, December 3rd at 4:00 pm.
