SCCC hosts 15th Annual SW Kansas Regional Science Fair

Seward County Community College hosted the 15th Annual Southwest Kansas Regional Science Fair was back on Saturday.

There were over 50 projects from students of Sublette, Rolla and Fowler.

Lexi Wright, Landree Forester, Cara Leonard and Maria Wall were the overall winners at the competition. Wright, who attends Sublette, was the overall winner in the senior division with her project “Let the Lead Out.” Forester and Leonard, who both attends Sublette, was the overall winner in the intermediate division with their project “Stains (does not equal) Pains.” Wall, who attends Rolla, was the overall winner in the junior division with her project “Water Erosion.”The overall winners received a cash award and a plaque.

Gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded for individual categories.

State qualifiers advance to the Kansas State Science and Engineering Fair on March 24-25 at the Cessna Activity Center in Wichita.
