Garden City, KS- Garden City Community College and Fort Hays State University will hold a combined band concert, "Old Friends New Friends", on Thursday, March 30th at 7 PM in the Pauline Joyce Fine Arts Auditorium at GCCC. This event is free and open to the public. GCCC Buster Sound Band will perform two pieces, Fort Hays State University Wind Ensemble will perform two pieces, and then FHSU and GCCC will play two pieces combined.
Makenzi Johnson, GCCC Music Instructor/Co-Band Director, shared her excitement, "This is the first time an event of this nature has happened in the band world on the GCCC campus, and we hope to continue this collaboration in the future."
GCCC Buster Sound Band is under the direction of Makenzi Johnson and CJ Johnson. The FHSU Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Peter Lillpopp.
Garden City Community College exists to produce positive contributors to the economic and social well-being of society.
