Tracey Mann, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Kansas' 1st District since 2021, shared his views on various topics through a series of tweets on December 10 and 11, 2024. Mann, who succeeded Roger Marshall in office, is known for advocating policies that align with his constituency's interests.
On December 10, Mann expressed his concerns about dietary guidelines set by the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC). He stated, "Dietary guidelines should be determined by scientific evidence, not political agendas. The guidance from the DGAC ignore the wealth of scientific evidence that affirms the nutritional benefits of animal protein like beef in combatting chronic disease & flavored milk as an option."
In another tweet posted shortly after, Mann urged public participation in policy discussions. He wrote, "As the representative of the top beef producing congressional district in the country, I encourage us all to submit comments to the Federal Register during the 60-day comment period that opens tomorrow. This is unacceptable."
The following day, Mann announced legislative progress via Twitter regarding water resources development. On December 11, he tweeted about recent accomplishments in securing projects and funding beneficial to Kansans: "Today the House passed the Water Resources Development Act of 2024. I secured: → Support for the Manhattan levee project → A study of the Ogallala Aquifer → $41 million in interest savings for Kansans I look forward to its Senate passage & the President signing it into law."
