Employers based in the SW Kansas News publication area submitted 63 H-1B petitions during 2024, according to data provided by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services via the H-1B Employer Data Hub. Of these, 62 were approved (98.4%), while one was denied (1.6%).

Among local employers with petitions during 2024, Unified School District 457 stood out with 44 petitions and an approval rate of 100%, followed by High Plains Educational Cooperativ with three petitions and an approval rate of 100%.

Compared to 2023, the SW Kansas News publication area saw a 215% increase in the number of H-1B petitions during 2024.
